Asking for help is perhaps the most important part of this course. An extensive survey shows that many people from countries such as Poland, Romania, etc. are very afraid to ask for help. In fact, the survey showed that this was the main topic causing problems. There is fear of losing control and people are afraid of losing their jobs. The image people have about care does not correspond with how care is organized in the Netherlands. This image is formed on the one hand by experiences from the (former) home country, and on the other hand on the basis of rumors that are spread. The same report points out how important it is to learn more Dutch.In this section we provide some phrases that can be used.
